Accurate Component Placement
Our new pick-and-place machine from TWS Automation uses the Linux Operating System which is approved (unlike Windows) for mission critical platforms that span aviation, military and aerospace applications ensuring secure, fast, robust, and virus free operation. It uses a camera with improved lens system and vision algorithms for better precision to centre larger components, BGA and very fine-pitch IC’s. With this system, we can comfortably handle chip components down to 0402.
Comprehensive Inspection
Inspection is an important production consideration so we have invested in a scanner-based optical system to automate first article inspection and subsequent production inspection tasks. The system has Comparator and AOI Modes, both of which generate comprehensive reports complete with error location marks. Reports can be viewed, printed, saved or e-mailed to customers for rapid prototype review. The software simultaneously displays the layout position and the position on the actual board indicating correct orientation and pin 1 position.
Confident reflow
Our reflow oven has a 2 metre process length, a 400mm wide conveyor and four good sized zones with a viewing window for confident process inspection. We selected this oven because a unique collider convection feature ensures even heating of all components. It produces up to 14 very accurate soldering profiles each with its own graphical colour display and these may easily be saved or recovered for batch builds.
